Protests in Hong Kong have brought the city to a standstill on Monday as protesters are demanding the proper withdrawal of a controversial extradition bill that could see Hong Kong citizens arrested and sent to mainland China to be prosecuted, the bill was only delayed in being debated on in response to earlier riots.
They also demanded that the current leader, Carrie Lam, stand down, she has so far refused causing ongoing riots with the demonstrations being met with counter-demonstrations from pro-China protestors as they marched on the streets and demanded a peaceful solution to the ongoing unease.
Beijing has warned of a possible military intervention in Hong Kong if protestors do not stop but no sign of backing down has been shown and the protests show how Chinese authority is being resented and that there is no properly peaceful way out of the stir.
