Buckingham Athletic FC massacred Buckingham United 13-2 at Stratford Fields, as Sean Devine’s side once again showed defensive weaknesses in pre-season.
For the third friendly game in a row against The Ath, Buckingham United have conceded at least seven goals. While this is Sean Devine first game in charge of the team, he is already worried about how his side is currently shipping goals with the new season fast approaching.
Buckingham Athletic manager Neil Griffiths said his boys are just getting started to “begin a new path and carry on from their fourth-place finish last season” after the club began their pre-season tour against Buckingham United FC in what was game to remember for any Buckingham Athletic player or fan.
It took The Ath 25 minutes to take the lead and display the difference in quality between the two teams at Stratford Fields, with Aaron King being impressive in this pre-season game netting a hattrick in the process.
Aaron King and Matt Cruse scored both scored five with Harry Dalton netting a hattrick for The Ath in a friendly bookended by two goals Buckingham United.
