More than 20,000 people in the UK have died from Covid-19 according to the latest figures released by the Department of Health.
The 20,319 deaths only include those who died in hospital.
Last month, Sir Patrick Vallance, UK government’s chief scientific adviser, stated that keeping deaths below 20,000 would be a good outcome.
Globally, the number of confirmed cases stand at 2.8 million and rising, with a prediction of 200,000 deaths to be expected.
