Manchester City have successfully overturned their ban from European club competitions, according to BBC News.
The club was banned in February from European club competitions, following an investigation by UEFA that concluded that the club had committed ‘serious breaches’ of Financial Fair Play regulations between 2012 and 2016.
In a ruling delivered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the club was cleared of ‘disguising equity funds as sponsorship contributors’. City’s fine has also been cut from £26.9m to £8.9m.
The ruling means that City are guaranteed to finish second in the Premier League, behind champions, Liverpool FC.
