YouTube announced that it will not produce their annual Rewind video this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
YouTube has been producing their annual Rewind videos since 2010 where the video features famous YouTubers as well as referencing viral moments of the year.
YouTube Rewind have often aggravated fans with 2018’s edition being the most-disliked video in the video-sharing platform. Chris Stokel-Walker, a journalist who writes about YouTube, stated that it was a shame that YouTube has made the decision in cancelling Rewind since the platform became “a major source of entertainment” for people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
