Joe Biden signed several orders addressing the coronavirus pandemic, including setting up a pandemic testing board and expanding access to care and treatment for the virus.
He also implemented a mask mandate for all federal buildings, all territories owned by the federal government, and all federal government employees.
The US Senate confirmed Avril Haines as director of secret services. She became the first woman in this position and the first confirmed member of President Joe Biden’s new administration.

White House Press Secretary Jennifer Psaki said she plans to resume both regular press conferences to inform the public about the coronavirus pandemic.
Traditional White House press briefings will be held from Monday to Friday.
