At a special church service in Buckingham, there is an opportunity to remember deceased loved ones

Come together as a group in remembrance of people who have passed away. A service to remember those we have loved and lost is being held at Buckingham Parish Church.

Losing a loved member of the family or a close friend is always sad, and St Peter and St Paul’s Church holds an annual service for all those who have lost loved ones during the past few years.

This year’s In Loving Memory service will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 3pm, led by Rev Maurice Stanton-Saringer with licensed lay minister Paul Mileham.

The gathering provides a calm setting for individuals to consider the life of a loved one, sing some well-known hymns, and connect with others who also feel the loss of a loved one.

There will be a brief speech, a time of prayer, the reading of one or two well-known poems, and the names of people who have just passed away.

All attendees are encouraged to add their names on a list at the back of the church so that it can be read aloud.

There will be a chance for you to light a candle in their honour, and there will also be candles lighted for anyone who might not have anyone here to remember them.

After the ceremony, refreshments will be provided, and attendees are invited to stay and reflect silently on their memories or, if they choose, to talk with church members.

The church is appreciative to Heritage & Sons Funeral Directors’ kind sponsorship of this service.
