The latest Bond film has been delayed again, this time because lead actor Daniel Craig has injured an ankle while filming.

According to the Sun, Craig slipped and fell while filming on location in Jamaica.

The actor was flown to the US to receive treatment and filming at Pinewood Studios in London has been postponed.

It is the fourth time the Critics’ Choice Award winner has been injured while on a Bond set – he knocked two teeth out on the 2006 set of Casino Royale, lost a fingertip while making Quantum of Solace in 2008 and injured his knee while filming Spectre in 2016.

The latest Bond film was originally set for a November 2019 release but is now set to be released in April 2020, because former director Danny Boyle dropped out in 2018 due to “creative differences”. Several comprehensive overhauls of the script continue to be made by a string of seasoned Bond scriptwriters, including Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, Paul Haggis, Scott Z Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
