In north-western Nigeria, in a state called Sokoto. Gunmen have killed at least 21 people in an attack on several villages in Sabon Bimi.
It was said that the attackers were on motorbikes and they also stole food items and other essentials from the villages.
This incident happened on Tuesday night with Sangerawa being the worst one hit by these criminals.
The attacks occurred due to the state governor , Aminu Tambuwal who announced there was a rise in the death toll to 43 from an attack on Monday in Illela town which is near the Niger border. It was said that 13 people were to have been killed there and two other in a town called Goronyo.
The North-western Nigeria can be seen as one of the most dangerous places to be as they have been fighting and dealing with armed criminal gangs killing and kidnapping people for ransom.
Authorities have been called out and criticised for failing to tackle the violence despite there being thousands of security forces being deployed there.
