Currently, Hong Kong is enforcing the city’s most stringent social distancing measures. Citizens are not allowed to assemble in groups of more than 4 people in public areas. The Hong Kong government will fine any person who participates in a prohibited group gatherings with a maximum of £2500 and 6 months in prison. However, according to health experts, Hong Kong could be relaxing some of its social-distancing measures by early May as the city confirmed only two new cases on Thursday.
The temporary ban on shops such as bars and beauty salons, will continue to be closed until at least May 7th. The government also stated that due to the slower transmission of Covid-19 in Hong Kong, social distancing measures can be lifted soon.
