Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton showed his support for the Black Lives Matter movement yesterday at the Styrian Grand Prix, according to Sky Sports.
Before and after the race, Hamilton kneeled ahead of the national anthem, and after securing his first win of 2020 and his 85th win of his 14 seasons of Formula 1 driving, he raised his fist on the winner’s podium.
Hamilton has been a prominent figure in the recent Black Lives Matter movement, which was sparked in the United States after George Floyd, a black man, was murdered by police officers. Hamilton attended the Black Lives Matter protest in Hyde Park in June.
