The 29-year-old actor has spoken out about his break up with the 26-year-old singer and has insisted there’s no bad blood between the pair, as he wished her nothing but “health and happiness” for the future.
In a Instagram post of a sunset, The Last Song star wrote: “Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
“This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
“Peace and Love.”
The star was flooded with support from his fans urging him to stay “strong” following the split.
While a separate image of Miley walking through the greenery read: “New day. New adventure.”
News of the shock break-up emerged shortly after the Wrecking Ball hitmaker shared a picture on Instagram without her wedding ring and twerked in a video on holiday in Italy.
Miley was also spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carterduring a girls’ getaway to Lake Como, Italy, on Friday.
A rep for Cyrus confirmed to E! and People in a statement: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
The pair will still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while taking time apart, the spokesman said.
The couple married in December 2018, after dating on-and-off for ten years.
Miley and Liam met while filming the movie The Last Song in 2009.
They were previously engaged in June 2012 but called time on the relationship the following year, but announced their engagement was back on in 2016 before they tied the knot last year.
