Milton Keynes’ Jewish community will celebrate Chanukah with a public menorah lighting and festivities at Bletchley Park on Sunday, December 29. Organized by the Chabad Jewish Centre and the Bletchley Park Trust, the free event features a 9-foot menorah, live music, an illusionist show, hot drinks, and traditional Chanukah foods.

The menorah, symbolizing light and hope, will be displayed near the historic Bletchley Park Mansion, accompanied by information highlighting the site’s Jewish connections. During WWII, Jewish codebreakers contributed to the Allied war effort, and pre-war, the mansion housed the Jewish Leon family.

“This celebration shares joy and light with the community while honoring the victory of good over evil,” said Rabbi Yitzchak Lew of Chabad Milton Keynes.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr. Marie Bradburn, and Bletchley Park representatives will join the event, part of over 150 menorah lightings across the UK marking the “Festival of Lights.”
