According to Buckingham Today, Operation Spectre will run next week, starting on Monday April 26, to Sunday, May 2.

The scheme will see knife amnesty bins placed outside police stations across the country.

Thames Valley Police confirms Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Milton Keynes will all have knife collection bins outside its stations.

Bladed weapons and knives can be placed in these bins anonymously. From there, the authorities will safely dispose of them.

The operation aims to remove dangerous weapons from the streets, reduce knife crime and raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife.

Thames Valley Police reiterated that knife crime was a priority for the organization in February. Releasing a statement addressing concerns raised by five unconnected fatalities involving bladed weapons.

If you have any information about the possession of knives or criminal activity relating to this type of crime, please report online via our website or call 101.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
