Opening schools ‘means closing pubs’

Pubs en route to shutting down again in order to control Coronavirus and enable schools to reopen, as they hold priority, according to The Guardian.

The Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies advised that the reopening of schools is a priority for the children, and this might affect other economies negatively in order to stop the increase of the infection rate.

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine said, “…It might come down to a question of which do you trade-off against each other and then that’s a matter of prioritizing, do we think pubs are more important than schools?”

On Friday, the Prime Minister suggested a second national lockdown as he put on hold new freedoms scheduled for this weekend, and there are fears that as more of the economy opens up there will be a full-blown surge in cases.
