Self-isolation brings out New Horizons

The video game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” could not have released at a better time as it is still gaining a lot of attention during the coronavirus pandemic.

The game starts off with an in-game version of you on a deserted little island. You will then meet a family of raccoons who are in charge of development and eventually your island will gain population as the game progresses.

Due to the pandemic, many have missed out on major life events. However, people have been taking advantage of the endless creative possibility and decided to host their very own in-game events such as weddings and graduations.

With the world currently practicing social distancing, the game allows people to escape to an island paradise with fully customisable features. More importantly, it allows you to virtually hang out with family and friends during self-isolations.
