A 57-year-old woman from Wales has died following a crash on the M40 motorway in Buckinghamshire on Sunday.
The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway between junctions 8A and 9 in Buckinghamshire before 11am on Sunday.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the M40.
Two cars were in collision, a white MG and a purple Mazda.
The driver of the MG, a man sustained serious injuries and is in hospital at this time.
A closure and traffic diversion were put in place as emergency services attended the crash.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Elizabeth Scurlock, said: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died as a result of this collision. On behalf of Thames Valley Police, I would like to offer my sincere condolences.
“The collision occurred at just before 11am on a busy stretch of the M40 in Buckinghamshire. I am making an appeal to anybody who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it, to please contact police on 101, quoting reference number 43210503143.

“The road was closed for many hours while emergency services were on the scene and our investigation commenced. I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we dealt with what was a particularly difficult scene.”
