After a successful #RunAndTalk session last Tuesday, organizers of the Buckingham and Stowe Running Group have decided to host another event this evening.
Participants have been asked to meet by the bridge in the Waitrose car park in Buckingham Town Centre at 6:45pm.
#RunAndTalk is a movement started by Run Together, a UK-based organization that connects individuals with fun, friendly running groups throughout the UK.
According to their website, the #RunAndTalk programme has been “created with the aim of improving mental health through running in England.”
The movement, which has been supported by Mind, the mental health charity, and aims to:
- get people talking about mental health, sharing their experiences and removing stigma
- provide support and guidance to raise awareness of mental health problems
- support people experiencing mental health problems to be physically active through running, whether that is to support them in starting, returning to or continuing to run.
Tony Allen, a representative of the Buckingham and Stowe Running Club, said in a social media post about tonight’s event:
“Come along whatever your ability and you will be warmly welcomed!”
