Drum and bass legend Goldie has stepped in to headline on Saturday 19th August, after Roy Ayers tour was cancelled.

Ayers released a message to fans saying: “Unfortunately, due to health complications stemming from a recent bout with Covid-19, I will be cancelling upcoming performances for 2023.”

He went on to say he had hopes of recovering in time to perform, but unfortunately this has not materialised and believe this to be the best course of action.

The Stowaway festival takes place on the weekend of the 18 – 20 August, at Blackpit Farm, Stowe. The 400-acre site will house music, comedy and children’s activities.

Other performers in the line-up include Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Crazy P Soundsystem, Dan Shake, David Rodigan, Eats Everything, Easy Star All Stars, Goldie, Irvine Welsh, Jamz Supernova, Joe Goddard, Little Dragon, Todd Edwards and Tom Ravenscroft.

In reference to the cancellation a Stowaway spokesperson said: “We’ll hope you join us in sending Roy all our love and wishing him the speediest of recoveries. Every cloud has a GOLD lining and with this sad news comes a new announcement – we’re super excited to announce that drum and bass legend, Goldie is your new Saturday headliner.”
