Over 3.6 million eager viewers tuned in to itv2 last night for the Love Island 2019 final.
The reality TV show popular within the youth of the UK. Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned the winners of this year’s edition.
According to Huffington Post, this is one of the show’s most closely-run finals with Tommy and Molly Mae ccoing second, Ovie and India, Crtis and Maura who came second and third runner up respectively.
The interest twist of the final is the prize money, the winning couple receive an envelope each; one containing he prize money of £50,000 while the other containing £0.The person who selects the prize money envelope has the option to ‘steal’ or split with their partner.Greg who selected the winning envelope whose to share the money with his partner saying, ‘I entered the villa in search of love and not money’
Following the huge success of this series, Love Island is set to return early next year after bosses confirmed there will be two editions of the ITV2 show in 2020.
The new winter edition will be in Cape Town in South Africa, while the usual summer edition heads back to Mallorca, Spain.
