Chinese students are afraid to study in the UK due to fears and concerns of the high death toll from the coronavirus pandemic.
Chinese students total tuition and spendings are worth approximately £4 billion, making them the UK’s biggest group of overseas students. Universities now fear the financial cost of Chinese students cancelling their courses due to the question of whether or not it is safe to travel back to the UK.
UK universities faces the anxiety of major financial losses if the coronavirus continues to cut down the number of Chinese students returning to their studies. Current forecasts have predicted that the number of cancellation of courses could range from 12% to 61%.
