Disney’s streaming service, Disney Plus, is set to launch on the 12th November 2019 in the US, Canada and the Netherlands. It is the Mouse’s upcoming streaming service for almost everything it creates including blockbusters from Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar. Disney is also set to produce a range of original shows and movies based on those brands such as a live action remake of the Lady and the Tramp.
On 26th August, Disney launched discounted online preorders for Disney Plus but only if you pay for a three-year subscription upfront. It was so popular it crashed the website. Unlike Netflix, Disney Plus will not have a tiered pricing system. While other streaming sites charge more for HD content and extra screens, Disney Plus will include all that for a baseline price of 7 USD (£5.80) a month. By opting for the yearly price instead, it brings the cost down to 5.80 USD (£4.80)a month.
Although Disney has confirmed that Disney Plus is coming to the UK, no launch date has been set.
