Gracenotes, a singing group from Buckingham and Banbury, performed their blend of folk and contemporary music at Fringe Week.

fringe week activitiesPerforming at the Busking Spot near Waitrose, they attracted onlookers with their harmonising performances.

The band, recognised for its engaging folk and current tunes, brought joy to the town last month. Gracenotes raised more than £200 in donations throughout their performance from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.

The funds will support Buckingham Area Citizens Advice Bureau (BACAB)  and help them provide critical advice on benefits, housing, and debt issues. Though Citizens Advice receives some funding from local councils, additional donations are crucial to sustain their services.

In an interview, Gracenotes expressed their gratitude for the community’s support. “It’s a good opportunity for us,” one member shared. “We’ve had a great reaction this morning and raised quite a bit of money for Citizens Advice.”

The group, who have been together for five years, sees their music as a way to support important local causes.

Citizens Advice is a national organisation, although local branches such as Buckingham’s rely primarily on community donations.
