Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove has been filmed dancing in an Aberdeen nightclub, according to The Guardian.
The recently-separated MP was spotted on the dancefloor of the Bohemia club in the city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning with his arms aloft, suit jacket on and tie off after reportedly trying to circumvent the £5 entrance fee by stating his position as the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
It has been said that Mr Gove walked into O’Neill’s bar at 1:15am on his own before being urged by drinkers to join them in Bohemia upstairs, which was hosting a techno and jungle night called Pipe.
It is thought that the 54-year-old, who grew up in Aberdeen, was in the city to visit family during the House of Commons summer recess.
Adam Taylor, co-manager of Pipe, said: “I asked if he wanted to come upstairs and if he liked dance music and explained to him ‘it is pretty lively music, are you sure it’s your kind of night’, making sure he actually wanted to come up.
“He said ‘I love to dance’ and I said ‘it’s £5 to come up’ and he said ‘even for the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster?’
“I expected him to go up and maybe just have a couple of drinks, the pub had closed, but when I next went up he was having a real good dance, he had incredible energy and stamina, he just kept dancing the whole night.”
