Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika announced that international flights will resume out of  Lagos and Abuja on 29th of August according to the BBC.

In Ghana, President Nana Akufo-Addo after an extensive review of the coronavirus situation gave the go ahead for the resumption of international flights for September 1st.

Early check-in’s and long lines can be expected in addition to the existing principles of social distancing, wearing of face masks, the use of sanitizers, temperature checks and only travelling passengers will be allowed into airport terminals.

This is welcome news for the many international students who are currently stuck in Nigeria and Ghana, and who will now have the option of making it back to the UK in time for the Fall session starting in September.
