Authorities are in pursuit of a prisoner, Mark Powell, from Aylesbury, who escaped from HMP Springhill in Grendon Underwood on Friday, November 24. Powell, 36, was granted temporary leave but failed to return, prompting a police appeal for assistance from the public. The appeal, launched on Saturday, revealed that Powell was given leave in the broader Aylesbury area and has connections to the Southwark region in South East London.

Detective Constable Stephanie Macleod, the investigating officer, urged the public to share any information regarding Powell’s location. She advised against approaching him and instructed individuals to call 999 immediately if they spot him, quoting reference 43230528542. Alternatively, those with information can contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting the same reference number.

DC Macleod also provided an option for individuals who prefer anonymity, stating, “If you do not wish to speak to police, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, and they will take your information anonymously.”
