It’s part of a £105m investment into roads from the council.

A major route will be closed overnight this week as part of Buckinghamshire Council’s roadworks programme. Motorists have been advised to plan ahead while works take place.

The A413 Buckingham Road in Aylesbury will close from 11.30pm tonight (Monday, November 27) until 5am every day for a week. The road will reopen at 5am on Tuesday, December 5.

t will also be shut in Gerrards Cross, where it becomes Amersham Road, due to a central reservation upgrade. A back-to-back lane closure is planned between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday, November 27 to Friday, December 8.

It is one of many closures taking place across the county this week. A Buckinghamshire Council spokesperson said: “We continue to make big progress on road repairs across Buckinghamshire and have now completed 24,600 road repairs since our new Buckinghamshire Highways contract began on April 1.

“These repairs, which are on top of our annual resurfacing programme, demonstrate the impact the very harsh conditions that last winter had on our road network. We have 15 teams working on road repairs, including potholes, some round the clock, seven days a week. Alongside this we continue to roll out our programme of bigger improvement works, with over 200 larger resurfacing, drainage and road safety projects on specific sections of the highways.

“As part of Buckinghamshire Council’s £105m investment in roads across the county over four years, work is taking place at the following locations through Buckinghamshire Highways’ Strategic Highway Maintenance Programme. The works are part of a rolling programme of countywide work and some activities are extremely weather-dependent, therefore dates shown are subject to change at short notice.

“These dates may also be subject to change depending on the availability of materials and unforeseen circumstances out of our control. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”
