The annual ‘Music in the Market’ event in Buckingham is to take place on Sunday 26thMay.
This open-air concert runs from 2-10pm,with a wide range of styles including Americana, acoustic roots, pop covers, an orchestra and the children’s choir. It is a day of free music open to the public in Buckingham’s market square.
It is now in its 19th successful year, organised by Buckingham Acoustic Club and supported by the Town Council.
This year’s headliners are local 5-piece band Palmerston who perform original catchy songs described as British Americana.
There will also be music from Acoustic Club regulars including Fraser and Toots, the Henry Sampson band, Mike Weston, Cerys Price and Thirlby and Smith.
Ian Murray will be playing 70’s and 80’s music and there will be a first appearance from Thomas McAvoy’s new band The Toucans and 60’s Jukebox.
Safari Boots are returning to play an original world inspired music set, emphasising on African styles. Also returning for a second time, The Heart Strings Orchestra and Buckingham Children’s Choir accompanied by musicians from Bittersweet Music.
