Angela Barnes returns to Buckingham for Fringe week 2024

Angela Barnes is set to headline Buckingham Fringe Week Comedy Night. The event will take place at Tanlaw Mill on Saturday.

Barnes left her health and social care career for stand-up comedy in 2010 and instantly rose to fame after winning the BBC New Comedy Award in 2011. She is a favourite on BBC Radio Four and co-hosts the podcast We Are History with John O’Farrell.

The comedian has performed nationwide and appeared on popular shows like Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, and Hypothetical.

Joining Angela Barnes is Eva Bindeman, a Bristol-based comedian known for her warm and conversational humour. She was recently seen on BBC One’s New Comedy Awards and is the 2024 Leicester Mercury Comedy Award winner.

The evening will be hosted by Russell Hicks. Known for his unfiltered comedy, Hicks is the voice of Sky Comedy and appears as Coach Hughes on Amazon Prime’s Lovestruck High. He regularly headlines at major comedy clubs and is a favourite at Top Secret Comedy Club in London.

Tickets are priced at £15 and can be purchased from the Buckingham Tourist Information Centre or the Buckingham Town Council website. The doors open at 7.30 pm for an 8.00 pm start and attendees are advised to arrive on time to avoid being highlighted by the comedians.
