Aylesbury has been nominated for the dubious honor of the ‘most depressing town’ in the UK, as part of a contest conducted by satirical website Previously recognized as the ‘worst place to live’ in 2021 and 2022, Aylesbury now contends for the updated category. Members of the public can cast their votes, with Aylesbury currently ranking near the bottom with 0.38%, while Peterborough leads with 7.31%. The competition, which saw a shift in focus from ‘worst place to live’ to ‘most depressing town,’ includes over 150 towns. Notably, other Buckinghamshire areas like Amersham, Beaconsfield, Chesham, Great Missenden, Marlow, Milton Keynes, and Princes Risborough did not make the cut. The results will determine which town claims the unwelcome title of the UK’s most depressing place to live.”
