Boy, 15, arrested after failed robbery attempt in Buckingham

Thames Valley Police has arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with an attempted robbery in Buckingham last weekend.

On Sunday November 8 at 3.30pm, a 16-year-old boy, and his girlfriend were walking along the Buckingham Railway Walk between the A421 ring road and Hunter Street when they were approached by  a group of six teenage boys.

One of the boys grabbed a chain around the victim’s neck and demanded that he handed it over. When the victim refused, the offender punched the victim in the face. He was then chased down the path before running away. Nothing was stolen during the incident.

The victim sustained swelling and cuts around his eye and required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Carolyn Bailey, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim, who required hospital treatment for his injuries.
