Buckingham charter fair returns but numbers are down

The Buckingham Charter Fair came back for two weekends, from October 12th to 19th, with its usual mix of rides, sideshows, and shops.

The fair began on Friday, October 11, with crowd-pleasers like dodgems and other standard rides. It was run by Nichols Amusements.

Even though the event had all the normal fun things, people from the area said that this year’s fair was much quieter than the ones in the past.

People who went and people who ran rides said there were fewer people and a more relaxed vibe.

Parking was another problem; many visitors had trouble finding a good spot because of road closures and detours in the town heart.

The community had a range of responses to these problems. Some liked the traditional charm of the fair, while others thought the problems with logistics and price increases took away from the fun.
