The Buckingham Charter Fair returned for two weekends on October 12th and 19th, 2024, bringing its signature blend of rides, sideshows, and stalls.

Operated by Nichols Amusements, the fair opened on Friday, October 11th, with family-favorite attractions like dodgems and other classic rides.

While the event provided its usual thrills, locals noted that this year’s fair was noticeably quieter compared to previous years.

Attendees and ride operators reported fewer crowds and a more laid-back atmosphere.

However, some voiced frustrations over the high prices of the rides, with many feeling that the cost wasn’t justified for the experience.

Parking was also a point of contention, as several visitors struggled to find suitable spaces due to road closures and diversions in the town centre.

These issues led to mixed reactions from the community, with some enjoying the fair’s traditional charm while others felt the logistical challenges and price hikes dampened the experience.

Despite these complaints, the fair successfully concluded after two weekends, continuing the long-standing tradition of the Buckingham Charter Fair.
