Buckingham Town Council aims to bring environmental issues to the fore with this year’s Spring Green Fair later this month.

The Old Cattle Pens in the town centre will again host this event, which promises a day of eco-friendly activities, and family-friendly entertainment.

The town’s popular Ukulele Group, which celebrated its tenth anniversary only last month, will be performing live and there will be a wide range of booth holders who specialise in locally manufactured and handcrafted products.

Buckingham’s River Wardens will be highlighting the wide range of animals that can be found in local rivers, and Bucks Waste Busters will be on hand to discuss everything related to composting and the North Bucks Bat Group will be working to promote bat conservation in our parks and town.

Additionally, there will be springtime arts and crafts for everyone, as well as stalls from local environmental businesses such as Finca El Monte, Manor Farm Foods, and Heart Shaped Cherry.

This year, in line with the Town Council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan we will be celebrating the environment. Many local organisations are supporting the event,” said Cllr Robin Stuchbury, Chairman of the Town Centre and Events Committee.

“The events committee and officers have been running this event for a number of years, knowing this important subject is something in which the community shares the ambitions. To improve the local environment where possible hope that you will join us on the day and be part of the movement within the community for change.”

The event will take place on Sunday, April 28, from 10 to 2 pm.
