England’s upcoming Nations League match against Iceland is in doubt after a new travel ban was imposed on non-UK visitors arriving from Denmark, according to the BBC.
England are pencilled in to face Iceland at Wembley on 18 November, just three days after Iceland are due to play Denmark in Copenhagen.
Under the current rules, Iceland’s players will not be able to enter the country from Denmark, where a new strain of COVID-19 has been linked with the country’s mink farms.
It has been said that rescheduling the game is not an option due to the congested fixture list.
England may be forced to forfeit the game or hold the fixture in a neutral venue to circumvent the new rules with Albania suggested as a potential location.
