Music venue saved from complaining neighbours

MK Council has voted unanimously to place a Deed of Easement on approved development works in Wavendon.

This means that any potential new residents would be informed of the music venue and associated noise before they purchase a property, and will have their rights to make any complaints restricted.

If the building work had gone ahead without the Deed of Easement in place, new residents could have placed the iconic music venue into jeopardy. Thanks to an unprecedented turn out of supporters at the Milton Keynes Council meeting on 1st August, as well as campaigning from the community and the media – including MKFM – the council voted fully in favour of putting the deed of easement in place.

The Stables is a music and entertainment venue based in Wavendon, Milton Keynes. It was founded by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine in 1970.
