Samsung’s profits soared as there were an increase of sales that were boosted by millions that are working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Korean tech company saw its operating profits rose 23% compared to last year in the second quarter. This resulted in a higher demand for computer chips and as a result increased prices in the global tech market. With the coronavirus pandemic, data centres increased their capacity in order to fully support the people who are working and studying from home.

With the brand new Galaxy note and Galaxy Z Fold smartphones set to release, it has been predicted that the market will improve in the next few months for Samsung as well as an increase in competition.
